Stephanie Brooks, MS, RD

Stephanie Brooks, MS, RD founded Bay Area Nutrition, LLC in 1999 to provide individuals, families and groups with the most up to date and user friendly nutrition information and guidance. Stephanie has been practicing since 1991 and earned her BS in nutrition and clinical dietetics from UC Berkeley, her MS in nutrition and food science from San Jose State University and a certificate in eating disorders from John F. Kennedy University. Stephanie is a nationally recognized expert in the field of disordered eating and pediatric feeding problems. In addition to her work with individuals, groups and families, she provides training and supervision for nutrition and other professionals regarding various nutrition topics and business development. Stephanie is passionate about her work and loves to see the 'ah-ha' moments when clients start to feel better, have more energy, improve health and find the right balance for them. She practices a "Health at Every Size" philosophy and utilizes a "non-diet/mindful" approach to eating, activity and life balance.


Alicia Bosscher, MPH, RD

Alicia Bosscher, MPH, RD earned her Bachelors degree in dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing her dietetic internship in Colorado, she moved to Washington D.C. to pursue a Master of Public Health degree. In D.C., Alicia worked as an outpatient dietitian at an HIV/AIDS clinic and discovered her passion for working one-on-one with people on lifestyle change. Alicia is passionate about listening to a client's needs and working with them to find small, but powerful ways to improve health through an active lifestyle and good nutrition. Additional outpatient counseling work in Wisconsin helped Alicia develop an open-minded, patient-centered counseling style focused on helping clients develop a positive relationship with food while achieving their nutrition and health goals. Alicia specializes in weight-loss, cholesterol and blood pressure reduction, as well as diabetes treatment and prevention with all age groups.



Rebecca Sugumar, MS, RD

Rebecca Sugumar, MS, RD joined Bay Area Nutrition to cover our growing South Bay practice in Gilroy. She completed her Didactic Program in Dietetics at San Jose State University and her internship with a concentration in diabetes education. She earned her BS degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics, and her MS degree in Food Science & Nutrition both from the University of Madras, India. Rebecca takes a holistic approach to wellness, and practices evidence based nutrition tailoring nutrition recommendations to each individual. Rebecca has completed advanced training in the area of Maternal and Infant nutrition as well as advanced nutrition counseling skills. She is passionate about helping her clients take baby steps to change their lifestyle towards improved health and well being. She also enjoys providing nutrition education at schools and health fairs. In her spare time she loves to cook and take walks with her family and dog.


Lesley Wiley, MS, RD

Lesley Wiley, MS, RD earned her Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, her Master's degree in nutrition from San Jose State University, and completed her accredited dietetic internship at Stanford University Medical Center. She has experience working with clients of all ages who have experienced struggles with weight concerns, eating disorders, and body image. She previously worked in residential and intensive outpatient eating disorder treatment centers and has experience leading classes in providing skills and knowledge to make healthful lifestyle changes.

Lesley's goal as a nutrition therapist is to help clients achieve their personal best through evidence-based nutrition recommendations and individualized lifestyle changes. Her worldwide studies and volunteer work allow her to appreciate that each client has very individual and specific goals. In addition to working with Bay Area Nutrition, Lesley is a lecturer in the nutrition department at San Jose State University, teaching classes in Physical Fitness and Nutrition and Food and Culture.


Jessica Wilson, MS, RD

Jessica Wilson, MS, RD has been practicing as a dietitian since 2006. She brings her expertise and experience in sport nutrition, eating disorders and diabetes (type 1, 2 and gestational) to Bay Area Nutrition. She earned her BS in clinical nutrition from UC Davis, and her MS in human physiology from the University of Oregon. Additionally, she completed a two year fellowship working with Division I athletes at the UO. Jessica was the nutrition director at the UO Health Center where she played a vital role in the Eating Disorders Treatment Team. She incorporates a Health at Every Size based approach in each of her client relationships. Her mission is to improve the quality of individual's lives by building healthy and satisfying relationships with food. Jessica incorporates mindfulness and motivational interviewing when appropriate and she looks forward to working with you.
