Stephanie Brooks, MS, RD

Stephanie Brooks, MS, RD founded Bay Area Nutrition, LLC in 1999 to provide individuals, families and groups with the most up to date and user friendly nutrition information and guidance. Stephanie has been practicing since 1991 and earned her BS in nutrition and clinical dietetics from UC Berkeley, her MS in nutrition and food science from San Jose State University and a certificate in eating disorders from John F. Kennedy University. Stephanie is a nationally recognized expert in the field of disordered eating and pediatric feeding problems. In addition to her work with individuals, groups and families, she provides training and supervision for nutrition and other professionals regarding various nutrition topics and business development. Stephanie is passionate about her work and loves to see the 'ah-ha' moments when clients start to feel better, have more energy, improve health and find the right balance for them. She practices a "Health at Every Size" philosophy and utilizes a "non-diet/mindful" approach to eating, activity and life balance.

Cassie Barmore, MS, RD

Cassie Barmore, MS, RD earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from California State University, Chico and her Master of Science in Nutritional Science from Texas Tech University. She completed her internship in Southern California through California State University Long Beach, with a concentration in Nutrition Across the Lifecycle Communication. Cassie specializes in helping clients who struggle with disordered eating/eating disorders, working to restore healthy thoughts and perceptions about food. Cassie provides tailored nutrition education and counseling to individuals and groups, helping people work through any barriers they may face to a healthy life. Cassie is committed to delivering health education through an evidence-informed, social justice lens and to promote positive and inclusive messages. Cassie utilizes a mindful, non-diet, weight-neutral approach to nutrition education. .

Rachel Bowles, MS, RD

Rachel earned her Bachelor's degree in nutrition from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She went on to earn her Master's degree in Nutrition Science from San Jose State University and complete her dietetic internship at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona. Rachel began practicing as a Registered Dietitian in 2011 as a corporate wellness dietitian, where she discovered her passion for group health education and one-on-one nutrition counseling. She believes in an individualized approach to nutrition and health, and strives to help her clients find the changes and strategies that will help them achieve their goals.

Annalisa Butler, RD

Annalisa Butler, RD earned her bachelors degree in dietetics from Utah State University. Annalisa is passionate about providing current, relevant, and accurate nutrition information while building a healthy and sustainable relationship with food. While completing her degree in dietetics Annalisa interned at a variety of hospitals and outpatient clinics in Salt Lake City, Utah; she spent most of her time with both pediatric and adult patients at Huntsman Cancer Institute, Primary Children's Medical Center, and South Davis Community Hospital. Annalisa worked at Avalon Hills Residential Eating Disorder Program for four years and helped clients to develop a normalized and balanced approach to eating. She moved out to the Bay area in 2014 to continue this work. She also has extensive experience creating individualized meal plans and menus for all types of dietary needs, budgets, and cooking abilities. Annalisa loves counseling a wide variety of individuals and practices a non-diet approach to eating. She teaches an intuitive eating and mindful eating approach while helping clients to make realistic food goals that incorporate flexibility and moderation.

Kelley Davis, MS, RD

Kelley Davis, MS, RD earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and Masters in Food and Nutrition from Bowling Green State University, OH. After completing her dietetic internship, Kelley began practicing as a Registered Dietitian in 2011, specializing in pediatrics and eating disorders. She has a passion for wellness and helping individuals find balance and joy in nourishing their bodies. Kelley uses a non-diet approach to develop realistic and achievable goals for food, activity, and life-balance. She enjoys working with a wide variety of people to cultivate sustainable habits for life-long health at any age. In her free time, Kelley enjoys mountain biking, backpacking, white-water rafting, and seeing the World!

Rebecca Sugumar, MS, RD

Rebecca Sugumar, MS, RD joined Bay Area Nutrition to cover our growing South Bay practice in Gilroy. She completed her Didactic Program in Dietetics at San Jose State University and her internship with a concentration in diabetes education. She earned her BS degree in Nutrition, Food Service Management & Dietetics, and her MS degree in Food Science & Nutrition both from the University of Madras, India. Rebecca takes a holistic approach to wellness, and practices evidence based nutrition tailoring nutrition recommendations to each individual. Rebecca has completed advanced training in the area of Maternal and Infant nutrition as well as advanced nutrition counseling skills. She is passionate about helping her clients take baby steps to change their lifestyle towards improved health and well being. She also enjoys providing nutrition education at schools and health fairs. In her spare time she loves to cook and take walks with her family and dog.
